Dr. Andrew Roth
Dr. Andrew Roth assumed the presidency of
Notre Dame College on July 1, 2003. Building on his 25+
years of experience in enrollment management, admissions,
financial aid and academic services, in his first year Dr.
Roth increased full-time enrollment 52.4 percent, new
student enrollment 138 percent, resident students 51.2
percent and the College’s overall operating budget by
approximately 20 percent. In addition, Notre Dame College
experienced its largest fund-raising year ever and grew the
endowment by approximately 50 percent. Prior to coming to
Notre Dame College in June 2003, Dr. Roth was at Mercyhurst
College in Erie, Penn., where he held a variety of
positions. Tenured in three academic departments, at various
times Dr. Roth was an Associate Professor of Marketing,
Director, Dean and Vice President for Admissions and
Enrollment Management, Chief Information Officer and Vice
President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College. In
addition to delivering numerous papers and presentations on
a variety of topics, he recently published College Savings
and the Tax Code: A New Spin on the “Who Pays for Higher
Education” Debate, which the Review of Higher Education
called “a major contribution to the literature of higher
education finance.” He is currently working on three
research projects: Small College Survival: Enrollment
and the Art of Strategic Growth; How to Think Like a
Marketing Leader; and Understanding Adult
Baccalaureate Degree Completion.
Dr. Roth received a B.A. in English and
History from John Carroll University, an M.A. in English
Language and Literature from Case Western Reserve
University, an M.B.A. in Marketing and Strategic Planning
from Gannon University, and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and
Higher Education Finance from State University of New York
at Buffalo.
